The Institute of Directors (IoD) was founded in 1903 and within three years they were awarded a Royal Charter (a formal document issued by the Royal family) to support, represent and set standards for business leaders nationwide.

They remain deeply proud of their Royal Charter and it stays at the forefront of everything they do as an organisation.
